Minutes of Committee Meeting held on March 4th, 2004 at 6.30pm
| Present: Debbledee, Huntress, troy, princess, Dragon, Debbie. | Apologies: Wade | ||
| 1 | Previous minutes: accepted. | ||
| 2 | General Business: | ||
| 2.1 | Library: | ||
| 2.1.1 | Fundraising: Unfortunately the paddle Mark agreed to make didn't get made in time for the munch it was intended for, so Huntress quickly came up with an alternative but costly option, that resulted in only $3 profit. Mark did manage to complete the paddle for the December munch though, and a profit of $24 was made then. Raffle at the next munch is a little figurines collection provided by Huntress. | ||
| 2.1.2 | Books: 'Screw the Roses, Send me the thorns' and 'The Loving Dominant', finally both arrived by January, and cost $62. All books in the Library are currently out on loan, as is the "Sugar and Spikes" video. Need to look at new items to add to the Library, current suggestion is the braiding books. Huntress will post to the munch list asking for further suggestions. Decided that borrowing should be made 'members only'.
| ||
| 2.2 | Consensual: 2.1 Queensland CLA awarded us the bid, but the cheque did not arrive until this week, after a query was made on the national ausbdsm email list about what was happening. Now need to open an account with a financial institution to deposit the cheque. Suggested bodies for this were CPS or Savings and Loans Credit Unions. Decided that we open an account with Savings and Loans, with President and Treasurer as signatories, and place the $2000 in a 12 month term deposit, while other funds are in a normal savings account. | ||
| 2.3 | Workshops: | ||
| 2.3.1 | Flogging - Ended up happening in November instead of the toymaking workshop, due to illness of Mark. Huntress ran the workshop, which had a profit of $15. | ||
| 2.4.2 | Toy Making - Mark ran this one (in consultation with Huntress) in January, with paddles and floggers being made, and $14 going to CLA (still to be collected yet) after costs. | ||
| 2.4.3 | Future - Rope/bondage workshops (basic and advanced), again post to the munch list and ask people what they would like to see this year. | ||
| 3 | New Business:Since seeing a post on the National ausbdsm email list about SA winning the bid for the left-over Consensual funds, Michael has asked for an application form to rejoin the organization. Do we let him rejoin, or even apply to rejoin? Relevant sections of our constitution state: | ||

(5. Membership: Membership is open to all parties, regardless of their sexuality or lifestyle who have an interest in the development of BDSM in South Australia. 5.2 Nomination for Membership: If the Executive Committee determines to approve a nomination for membership, the Secretary must, as soon as practicable after that determination, notify the nominee of that approval and request the nominee to pay, within a set time frame, the sum payable as outlined in para 5.5. If the nomination is not successful, then the Secretary will notify, in writing, within seven (7) days of the Executive Committee meeting that the nomination has been declined. 5.3 Cessation of Membership 5.3.2 Termination 5.3.2.1 Disciplinary Measures The Executive Committee may terminate the membership if a member iii Has membership fees in arrears for a period of three calendar months or more iv Conducts himself or herself in a manner considered to be injurious or prejudicial to the character or interests of the Association) | |||
|
If Michael's previous membership had been renewed we would likely have taken disciplinary measures and terminated his membership anyway, so it is not felt we should even bother to accept a new application, as it is not felt he is likely to have changed.
