Minutes of Committee Meeting held on May 12th, 2001

Present: Dragon, Amanda, Michael, Snow.

Apologies: Huntress, Troy, princess.

1 Business Arising:
1.1 Application form, certificate of incorporation and scarlet questionnaire - tabled

1.2 Workshops: Leif ready to go

1.3 Venues: The question was raised as to suitable venues to hold workshops. The Universities were mentioned and it was suggested that if there was a student run BDSM group then perhaps we would have easier access to a suitable space. Suggestion to email the SAMunch list with a request to get students active. Action: amanda

1.4 Registration Monies to go to Huntress or troy along with the registration form

1.5 Censorship Email was sent to the relevant politicians and the reply was forwarded to the list.

2 New Business:
2.1 Members: The question was raised which will be raised by everyone.. What has CLA to offer? It was suggested to we should offer the following
  • A newsletter
  • Discount in shops for members (e.g. Hardware , Sex shops, Cash and carry, leather wholesalers, restaurants ... etc)
  • Advertisement for quality local suppliers
  • Sin Magazine ­ adverts for events for free
  • Cheaper entry fees for workshops, Scarlet and Mars Bar
  • Accredited instructors
A letter was mentioned that was for the use of clubs to gain special deals for their members. Action: amanda

2.2 Post to the National List Informing the National list that we are now officially registered. Action: Dragon

2.3 Encouragement for other states Once we are up and running with a growing membership then this will encourage other states to follow suit. National companies should also be approached for discount for members so that this will be easier for the other states when they attempt the same thing in their state.
